The Investment Promotion Agency of Mauritania (APIM) is a public administrative institution that implements the national policy of investment promotion.

Its objective is to put in place mechanisms to increase the country's productive capacity, job creation and income generation for the well-being and prosperity of its citizens.

APIM offers a free and professional public service to local and international investors to facilitate their access to the Mauritanian market through its transversal structures in liaison with the administrations, public and private organizations concerned, to optimize their results in the country.

The creation of APIM is part of an upward slope that Mauritania is taking on the economic front. With its geostrategic potential and rich natural resources in mining, fisheries and energy, the country is sending a clear message of openness to foreign investors. The investment code provides no restrictions on the activities of a foreign entity and no minimum capital requirements, putting foreign investors on the same footing as local ones.

With an efficient and modernized single window (currently being digitized), the formalities for registering a company are accelerated and centralized in one place. The investor is assisted from A to Z and creates his company in one to two days maximum.
